Time behaves differently inside the music of LORD OF CONFUSION. Since emerging from Leiria in 2018, the band has treated doom metal not as a vehicle for impact, but as a space to inhabit — one where ideas are stretched, revisited and slowly transformed. Their debut LP, entitled “Evil Mystery”, was released in September 2022 and introduced that perspective with a strong emphasis on atmosphere, aided by an eerie organ, while their newest album, “The Weight Of Life”, deepens it, expanding both the scope and the detail. As usual in doom, the band allows repetition to do the heavy lifting, letting motifs settle into the listener’s perception until they take on a life of their own, and that approach creates a psychedelic pull, where the outside world fades and the music establishes its own internal logic.
