NUBIVAGANT

Italy
  • Day 3

NUBIVAGANT deal with darkness, plain and simple. The product of single member Omega (Chaos Invocation, Darvaza, Frostmoon Eclipse and a million or so more), rooted in atmospheric black metal, this project focuses on weight, tension and immersion rather than speed or flash. Long, layered riffs, bleak melodies and a cold, oppressive mood define a sound that slowly pulls the listener under and doesn’t let go. Built on repetition and ambiance, Nubivagant’s music feels vast and suffocating at the same time. With a steady rhythm of releases so far – ‘Roaring Eye’ (2020), ‘The Wheel and the Universe’ (2022) and ‘The Blame Dagger’ (2024), hopefully something coming this year? – Omega has developed a kind of black metal that favours patience and intensity, letting tracks unfold and grind forward until the mood is fully set. Live, as we will all witness in April, Nubivagant turn all that atmosphere into something physical. With Omega performing impressively alone on stage, only accompanied by drummer Anamnesi (Loss, Ossario, Pyra) sitting behind him, the sound still fills the room, the pressure builds, and the forming shades become impossible to ignore.
